The last field trip at 2016 (12-13th November)<\/strong> was organized to Tertiary deposits of the Kru\u0161n\u00e9 hory Mts. (Erzgebirge).<\/p>\n

\"Starosedelsk\u00e9<\/a>

Erika quarry<\/p><\/div>\n

First day was in schedule visit of locality Vale\u010d<\/span> with nice samples of hyalite in pyroclastics and tuffs of Doupovsk\u00e9 hory Mts. Then we moved to visit Sokolov brown coal basin<\/span>, where we’ve seen active quarry Dru\u017eba<\/span>, ongoing recultivation on quarry Medard-Libn\u00edk<\/span> and sand quarry Erika<\/span> with important sedimentary profile of Starosedelsk\u00e9 series of strata. On the way to Bo\u017e\u00ed dar village, where we slept, we stopped at the heap of abandoned copper mine Helena near Tisov\u00e1<\/span> (Kraslice).<\/p>\n

Second day we moved more on the northeast to visit active phonolite quarry Mari\u00e1nsk\u00e1 sk\u00e1la<\/span> in Ust\u00ed nad Labem city with nice samples of zeolites (natrolite) and then looked at the pseudokarst fluorite cave on the D\u011b\u010d\u00ednsk\u00fd Sn\u011b\u017en\u00edk Mt.<\/span> exposed thanks to fluorite mining.<\/p>\n

Seven Chapter members participated on this excursion led by Mgr. Jan Bubal.<\/p>\n
