We would like to invite you to a two-day Gold Short Course by Prof. David I. Growes from the Centre for Exploration Targeting, UWA, Australia. The course will take place on the 19th-20th May 2018 in the building of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, Albertov 6. The ice-breaker is planned for the evening of 18th May (Friday). Attendance on the short course is for free thanks to SGA Educational Fund, but the field trip is charged by 160 EUR for SGA members and 280 for non-members. Currently we have around 5 places left for the field trip.

Day 1: Orogenic Gold Deposites
Day 2: Gold Deposits on Craton Margins: Intrusion-related, Carlin and IOCG plus Gold-rich VMS Deposites – a newly recognized gold group
2) Post-Short Course field trip (21st-23th May 2018)
Day 1: Historical gold mining district Jílové u Prahy and Zlatý kopec skarn deposit.
Day 2: Ag, Co, As and U deposit Jáchymov with visiting underground mine Svornost. Horni Blatna Sn, Mn and Fe deposites. Historic underground Mauritius mine (skarn deposit).
Day 3: Vrchoslav fluorite deposit and Krupka – Knöttel mining district (Sn, Cu, Mo ores). Back to Prague visit of Podsedice open pit with mining og gem quality garnet called “Czech garnet”.
